Maria joined SDA in 1997 to be part of an organization that would enable her to keep abreast of issues and trends in the industry, learn and exchange ideas as well as promote her firm. She has worked for ads ENGINEERS since 1985, starting part-time to answer phones for a 15-person MEP Engineering firm, and 25 years and 30 additional employees later, she is an Associate and Director of Administrative Operations/Controller. In addition to creating the policies and procedures for the office and administrative staff, she is responsible for all financial aspects of the firm, from contract billing to collections, and is a member of the firm’s Marketing Committee. She is a Docent at the Tribute Center Museum in Collaboration with the 9\11 Memorial.
Maria was Treasurer of the New York Chapter for the past two years (2010-2011) and was presented the SDA National Profiles of Success Award, Gold Level in 2011. As a long-time member of the SDA Canstruction Committee, Maria created the Canstruction slideshow that has been used at the gala and in many other events to promote Canstruction.
