March Tour: The Tribute WTC Visitor Center and National September 11th Memorial

15 March 2012 17:00
Tour

SDA New York has a unique opportunity to attend a tour of the Tribute World Trade Center Visitor Center and the National September 11th Memorial. The tour will be led by Lee Ielpi, President of the September 11th Families Association and also Co-Founder of the Tribute WTC Visitors Center.

Lee Ielpi, a retired NYC firefighter, is a compelling and heartfelt speaker who is intimately involved with the site and the families of those who lost loved ones. On September 11, 2001, Lee arrived at the World Trade Center within a half hour of the second collapse and assisted with organizing operations until midnight of that evening. As is tradition within the FDNY, Lee worked hands on daily for nine months after 9/11 to bring home all that were lost, including his son Jonathan Ielpi, FDNY Squad 288.

The Tribute Center has over 500,000 visitors annually. For more information on the Tribute WTC Visitor Center and Lee Ielpi, visit www.tributewtc.org

We are able to set up this personalized tour through the efforts of Maria Iacovone, SDA New York’s President. Maria has been a volunteer docent at the Tribute WTC Visitor Center since 2007. She will join us on this tour.

The tour is limited to only 20 participants, so reservations are “first come/first serve,” with priority to SDA Members. There will be a dinner afterwards for those who are interested. Please join us for dinner if you cannot make the Tour.
