The Director of Operations is responsible for managing the firm’s administrative support processes, with a particular focus on human resources management, as well as implementing internal strategic initiatives towards the goal of running a more efficient and effective business.

This role is an opportunity to build and manage all the crucial systems that keep CWB running behind the scenes, across professional development, people management, and internal operations.

Work with leadership to build and sustain robust professional development systems.
• Develop initiatives and policies for improved business operations, client experience, internal
communications, and employee engagement, including the incorporation of DEI Initiatives.
• Initiate a comprehensive career development program for all employees, including identifying the professional ambitions of each employee and working with management to build individual
development plans with tangible benchmarks.
• Establish a more comprehensive employee review program, including assistance with tracking of benchmarks and KPIs.
• Build on our newly implemented onboarding program to ensure ongoing support for new hires.
• Be a key advisor on change management, working with senior leadership to help the organization adapt to growth and change.

Lead the Human Resource and Administrative team to maintain a positive work environment.
• Direct the day-to-day HR activities, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, and employee
relations and career development.
• Ensure that HR policies and practices are adhered to and aligned with firm values and organizational objectives.
• Assist employees and management in all HR aspects, including employee relations, investigations, and interpreting company policies and practices.
Direct office operations to support the creative atmosphere of our design studio.
• Manage a variety of office administrative support tasks including purchasing, facilities management, maintenance, leasing, clerical support, and events.
• Organize and lead monthly operations meetings with leadership as the primary liaison for
administrative issues.
• Coordinate with and support the work of the firm’s financial consultant and IT consultant.
• Coordinate with the Marketing Director to support the quality of the client experience and internal communications.

• SHRM certification or degree in HR Management, or Business Administration a plus.
• 5+ years of experience, ideally with a strong background in Human Resources,
• Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines.
• Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, marketing, and employee management.
• Knowledge of the architectural and interior design industry and process.
• Proficiency in Excel is a must. Familiarity with ArchiOffice and the Adobe suite a plus.
• Will need to be able to work on site in our Brooklyn Office.
